I love Terry Prachett’s Discworld novels. And I especially love the Sam Vimes sub-series. So when I say Thud! is probably my favorite, that means something. But the ending, when Sam is coming to read to his son, that gets me every time. Literally, just typing this and thinking about it brought tears to my eyes. Fantastic.
