This was the first Myke Cole book I read, though to be clear I DNF’d it on page 331 of 872. I have no idea why I would have rated it at two stars, given I couldn’t slog through the bad writing and worse characterization. It was so bad, I didn’t give him another shot for a long time, though I did end up enjoying The Armored Saint and Sixteenth Watch.
Now, I can’t imagine a world where I pick up another book by him, given he’s already done the public apology, contrition act once and shown himself to be unchanged. Why would I believe him a second time?
But this book in particular you don’t have to worry about missing out. It’s pretty garbage.
